Northern New Jersey Boot Camp

Welcome to the Northern New Jersey Social Media Boot Camp  a program produced by Darim Online and funded by the Berrie Innovation Grant from the Berrie Fellows. The program is open to Jewish organizations in northern New Jersey within the UJA NNJ catchment area, including Bergen  County and parts of Passaic and North Hudson Counties.

The NNJ Social Media Boot Camp is a year-long program to develop social media skills, understanding and projects for your organization. We offer a live event, webinars, and one-on-one and small group coaching and consulting to help local organizations understand the paradigm shift underway and its impact on the Jewish community and Jewish organizations. We will also help participants to design and implement social media projects for their organization. The program includes:

  • A full day, in person Boot Camp, held at UJA NNJ headquarters in Paramus on December 10, 2009
  • A series of skill building and knowledge sharing webinars (conduted online)
  • Individualized coaching and consulting to help each participating organization design and implement a social media project
Interested organizations should to put together a team of 3-5 representatives, both staff and lay leaders, to engage in the program.  From time to time representatives from outside the team may participate in webinars and other activities.  Core team members from applying organizations should mark their calendars for the December 10th event.   Team members should plan to invest 2-4 hours a month to participate in the curriculum and coaching, plus additional time to work on their local projects.  Team members need not have any particular technical skills. Strategic thinkers and those with marketing and communications expertise will be particularly helpful.

Darim will be selecting 20 organizations to participate in this Boot Camp. Each organization will contribute $500.  All other expenses are paid for by the Berrie Innovation Grant.  Applications are due by October 16th, 2009.  Decisions will be announced in early to mid-November.  Questions?  Contact Lisa Colton.
