Long Island Boot Camp Application
Thank you for your interest in the Long Island Boot Camp. This year-long experience will build skills and raise cultural awareness for using new media to achieve your mission and goals. The program will include a webinar series throughout the year, and provide private and small group coaching and consulting to support you in designing and implementing social media projects in your congregation. The program will be book-ended with live events on Long Island.
We are interested in composing a diverse and focused cohort of congregations which are ready to think deeply about what it means to be a congregation in the 21st century, are willing to experiment and take risks and ready to invest the time, energy and attention develop and implement social media projects over the coming year.
Each participating congregation should form a team of 3-5 representatives, including both staff and lay leaders (clergy are encouraged to participate). Members need not be technical and are not required to have any particular skills or experience with social media, though personal experience with online tools, business strategy, marketing and communication skills may be useful to have represented on your team. If your team is not finalized, please provide as much info (including general comments) as you have. We will require approval of your congregation's president for participation in this program, though the president may or may not be on your team.
