Long Island Synagogue Boot Camp
Darim Online is pleased to announce the Long Island Synagogue Boot Camp, generously funded by UJA Federation of New York.
During the summer of 2009 Darim will be offering introductory webinars for all staff and lay leaders from Long Island synagogues to learn about social media and the Boot Camp program.
This new, one year program is designed to increase your understanding, comfort with, and use of social media in your congregation, for marketing, communications, community building, education, fundraising and more. The Boot Camp will engage teams of staff and lay leaders from local congregations in a skill building, knowledge sharing and coaching experience, offered through in-person meetings, webinars, and conference calls. UJA Federation of New York is generously funding the program. Participating organizations will be asked to pay a one time $250 fee. Some scholarships are available for those congregations unable to pay.
All Long Island congregations are welcome to apply for this program. Congregations should assemble a team of 3-5 representatives (staff and lay leadership). Team members need not be technical, but experience with marketing, communications and/or strategic responsibilities is helpful. We will also require the approval of the president of the congregation to participate in this program, though the president is not required to be on the team.
Applications are due by August 7, and the cohort will be announced in late August or early September. The kick off in-person event will be October 18, 19 and/or 20 (we will offer multiple opportunities at different locations on Long Island -- details to come).
Darim offered "Intro to Social Media" webinars in June to orient interested participants to the program. If you missed it or want to review the materials, you can replay the webinar, or view the Powerpoint slides.
